About Our Guests
DJ Duste
Dustin Anthony, aka DJ Duste, has been a collector and DJ of Latin music for over 10 years. He's one of the few salsa DJs to use vinyl records, and a brilliant entertainer who creates a unique vibe on the dancefloor, spinning and MCing at the same time.
Dustin started his career as a DJ at an RNB/Hip-Hop club. His first experience hearing Latin music came when he was taken on as a resident DJ at a venue called 'Club Brazil' in his hometown Brisbane, Australia. Initially working with the club's CD collection, he soon developed a deeper interest in salsa and its catchy fiery rhythms and harmonies. Being a percussionist and vocalist through high school, he found salsa to be so intricate yet simple in its form that he wanted to keep hearing one montuno after another. And the rest was history... Dustin started to buy records and read articles from every artist and musician he could get his hands on. 10 years later and after DJing in thousands of different clubs worldwide he is still hunting and finding records and more information about his passion, salsa.
DJ Duste currently creates and produces mixes for various clients: professional dancers, radio stations, bands, etc. Make sure to check out his record collection and hear his mixes on his website at www.salsamixes.com
